Escambia County Parks and Recreation

When you head outdoors in Escambia County, you’ll find a number of things to do in the midst of their parks and recreation culture. Horseback riding, team sports, and great nature trails are just a few of the reasons why this is a great Florida County.

Equestrian Center
This park is 151 acres and is used for a variety of events including a large number of horse shows, including both English and Western style equine events. There are also dog shows here, rodeos, festivals, runs, and other events. Events hosted here are especially popular, so come check out what’s happening at the Equestrian Center.
Athletic Associations
A large of number of athletic associations are present around Escambia County. Of these numerous associations, a wide number of sports are associated with each. Perdido Riverwalk
This beautiful location for a walk in the natural splendor of Florida runs directly along the Perdido river for 3/4s of a mile. This section of the path will send visitors through 2 distinct ecological communities: oak/pine uplands and bottomland hardwoods. Along the riverwalk, visitors will note the large number of plant and animal species that they encounter, like the rare Florida anise. Animals include wild turkeys, beavers, owls, deer, and bald eagles.
Escambia County sits right on the edge of everything that makes North Florida such a wonderful place to appreciate the trappings of nature. Sports and horseback riding top off this great Florida County.
