Harry P. Leu Gardens

Leu Gardens is a beautiful botanical garden located in Orlando, Florida. It spans over 50 acres and offers a serene escape from the bustling city.

The gardens feature a variety of themed areas and landscapes that highlight different plant species and styles:

• Palm, Bamboo, and Cycad Gardens: Showcasing an extensive collection of palms, bamboo species, and cycads from around the world.
• Tropical Stream Garden: A lush area with a winding stream, showcasing tropical plants and colorful flowers.
• Idea Garden: Offering inspiration for home gardeners with a variety of plants and landscape design concepts.

The gardens feature more than 230 different camellia cultivars, including both traditional and rare varieties. The peak blooming season for camellias typically occurs during the winter months.

Leu Gardens was established in 1961 and is named after its benefactors, Mr. and Mrs. Harry P. Leu. They were avid gardeners and philanthropists who transformed the property from their personal estate into a public garden to share their love for plants and nature with the community.

Within the gardens, you’ll find the historic Leu House Museum, which was the former residence of the Leu family. The house is a restored 19th-century farmhouse that offers a glimpse into the lives of the Leus and their horticultural interests. Visitors can take guided tours to explore the house and learn about its history.
